In our travels across the county this week- visiting everything from Georgian rectories to converted Victorian schoolhouses- we’ve been reminded that true luxury is often found in the quietest corners.
We spent a delightful Tuesday at a manor on the edge of the Cotswolds where the owner had spent three years restoring the original leaded windows. To the casual observer, it’s a minor detail; to the person living there, it is the difference between a house that feels "renovated" and one that feels "restored." It is this commitment to stewardship that keeps the British property market so vibrant and resilient.
A Gentle Pace
The "Spring Rush" is well underway, but we’ve noticed a lovely change in tempo this week. There is a sense of calm among our clients. There is less "chasing" and more "choosing."
We’ve spent much of our time this week simply listening- sitting in sunrooms with homeowners, discussing not just the "asking price," but the history of the roses in the garden and the best local spots for a Sunday roast.
